Sojourn of Shadows – A moving ink painting
103cm total. 72cm blade, 26cm handle. 3.2cm wide, 0.7cm thick. About 1.1kg.
The look – Matte black blade with etched birds in flight. They’re done in negative space – so the steel itself becomes the sky. The birds move in a rhythm, like a silent migration along the spine.
Black lacquered scabbard, deep and liquid, like a still night lake. Gold‑plated end cap – the only spark of dawn. The alloy guard is clean and geometric.
The feel – Wood core handle wrapped in cord. A section of textured leather cord on the scabbard adds a rugged touch. Grip is secure, balance is quick.
Why it matters – This isn’t a decoration. It’s a breathing ink scroll you can hold. Every time you draw it, the shadows shift across the birds’ wings. For the collector who sees a piece as a mirror of their own journey – quiet, rhythmic, and deep.
Sojourn of Shadows – ink, steel, and the flight within.
