At Sword Market Art, every katana is a unique work of art, handcrafted with precision and care by master artisans. We appreciate your patience and understanding as each piece requires dedicated time for forging, polishing, and finishing.

1. Processing & Production Time

Because our katanas are individually handcrafted, production times vary based on the complexity and current workshop schedule:

• Order Processing: Verified orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days.
• Standard Series (Non-Custom): 7–21 days for forging and assembly during normal season. Peak season may extend up to 45 days.
• Multiple Items: Orders with 2 or more pieces may require additional time due to scheduling and material preparation.
• Advanced Craftsmanship: Katanas featuring complex techniques such as Sanmai or Honsanmai layering typically require approximately 2 months due to the intricate forging and polishing process.
• Fully Custom Orders: Production time ranges from 1 to 3 months, depending on your specific customization requirements.

2. Shipping Destinations

We ship our collectible Japanese katanas worldwide. Shipping availability is subject to international and local regulations on bladed art pieces.

We currently ship to:

• North America: United States, Canada
• Europe (VAT/Tax-Included via IOSS for most EU countries): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. Note: United Kingdom is not tax-included.
• Other Regions (Tax Not Included): United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia, Singapore, United Kingdom, and many more.

US Shipping Restrictions for Bladed Collectibles

Due to the complex and varying nature of U.S. federal, state, and local laws regarding bladed collectibles, certain items may be restricted in specific jurisdictions.

Buyer Responsibility By placing an order, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have independently verified that the product is legal to purchase, import, possess, and display at your shipping destination
• You assume full responsibility for compliance with all applicable laws

We are not responsible for any legal issues, confiscation, delays, or penalties resulting from violations of local laws.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse, cancel, or restrict the shipment of any order if we believe it may violate applicable laws or pose a compliance risk.

Certain items may not be shipped to jurisdictions with stricter regulations. This list is not exhaustive.

3. Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout for transparency:

• United States: Free shipping on orders of $88 and above. Orders below $88 will incur actual shipping fees based on weight and destination.
• Other Countries: Flat rate of $19 per order.
• Shipping fees are not included in the product price and will be clearly displayed before payment.

4. Duties, Taxes & Customs Clearance

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that importing this collectible art piece is permitted under the laws of your jurisdiction.

• European Union (EU): VAT is typically included for standard packages via the IOSS system.
• Non-EU Countries (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.): Import duties and taxes are not included. The recipient is responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or fees imposed by the destination country.
• Oversized Items: For katanas exceeding 1.18 meters in length, taxes and duties are not included for any destination due to special logistics handling.

Important: If additional duties or taxes arise, they must be paid by the recipient. Sword Market Art is not liable for packages returned or destroyed due to non-payment of customs fees or failure to cooperate with clearance procedures. No refund will be issued in such cases.

5. Delivery Estimates & Tracking

Once your order is crafted and shipped, estimated transit times are:

• Most Regions: 7–15 business days
• Europe: 17–20 business days

For shipments to Mainland Europe: Due to our use of a centralized Tax-Included shipping route, your package is first routed through a transit hub in Italy for customs clearance (handled on your behalf). It is normal for tracking to show limited updates for 15–20 days after shipment. Once cleared and transferred to the local courier (e.g., BRT, DPD, UPS, FedEx), final delivery usually takes 2–5 days.

6. Holiday & Seasonal Delays

Production and shipping times may be affected during major holidays and peak seasons, including:

• Holiday shopping season (November–December)
• Lunar New Year period (January/February)

We recommend placing orders well in advance during these periods to account for potential delays in production and global logistics.

7. Delivery & Receipt

• Please provide a complete and accurate shipping address (no abbreviations).
• Ensure the provided phone number is active, as the courier may need to contact you for delivery arrangements.
• Sword Market Art is not responsible for delivery issues caused by incorrect or incomplete address information provided by the customer.
• If your tracking shows “Delivered” but you have not received the package, please contact the local carrier immediately.

8. Order Cancellation Due to Legal Restrictions

If an order cannot be fulfilled due to shipping or legal restrictions, we will cancel the order and issue a full refund to the original payment method.
