This traditional, integrity-first construction is non-negotiable for a functional blade, ensuring maximum strength, perfect balance, and long-term durability—whether for display, practice, or rigorous cutting.
Katanas are considered knives and governed as such by state laws, so it is perfectly legal. In the United States, you must be 18 years old or have clear parental permission before owning a Katana.
Whether or not you can carry a katana outdoors depends on the state you live in, and we recommend that you check your state’s laws for yourself. In general, it is forbidden to carry the sword openly in public, and it must be in a special bag or secure case.
